Well, I didn't see any restriction to entry, so I thought I'd take a chance and join up...
Plus, hey, it's Minnesota-based, and that can't be bad!
If this is an invite-only club, let me know, and I'll cheerfully toddle off! Until then, though, I'll go on posting like it's nobody's business.
As an introduction... I've been role-playing online for roughly 6 years. Almost two years ago, I started LARP and table-top. Yes, yes, I'm rather new at this whole thing, and I haven't had much experience, so I'm looking to broaden my horizons, so to speak. I thought it might be fun to join a community, where I will be understood when wanking about our GM.
I'm also looking for some decent online games to join that won't crumble as soon as I touch them.
Almost randomly (because I'm curious): what do you do with a
drunken sailor fallen paladin who won't crawl out of the bottle? Please enlighten me, because I am so about to leave him to his drink and lead a suicide mission against the demon myself...
Hello, and welcome to the community!
What system is the Paladin in? In a D&Dish type one I saw find yourself an NPC Pally who will most happily help you with your demon troubles. (Any Paladin worth his salt anyway :P )
Thank you! =)
Yup, it's a DnD paladin. The problem is this: that was the NPC! I was playing a cleric of Pelor, and the guy who headed the church in town told me to dig up this drunken paladin, or the town would be lost to some demon-thing. I think he did it to try and teach my character some compassion or something? I don't know. It didn't work. Every time I talk to people who have played DnD now, I have to ask "What would you have done?"
Toss him in a river, and remind him that if he doesn't sober up and help, he'll likely Fall. If that doesn't work, tie him to the back of a horse and drag him along. When you get there, get rid of the horse, and tell him he's got two choices - fight, or get killed from behind. Nothing like a little cold terror to sober a man up!
If only I'd thought of that! *wistfully*
Problem is, I don't think he would have cared... His whole issue was "My god has turned on me, and would not aid me in the hour of my greatest need, and so everyone I loved was killed."
I tried doing everything I could think of, short of seducing him--since I was -not- lowering myself to that. When I finally gave up and tried to call a party member, the DM was like, "Well, you're about three days behind them, so it'll take that long for him to show up. Why don't you try something else?" WHAT?!
Nevermind the DM was a tard...
Welcome aboard--and no it's not invite only! *smiles*
I'll leave the drunken paladin to Duncan here--he is evil enough to take care of those little problems. *laughing*
But we could put him in a room with a valley gnome who has a wand of wonder....
Ooo, a gnome...
Anyway, I hope everything works out for you... Good luck--that stuff's real tough.
